An undithered "unsafe" background colour

This interactive page demonstrates a multi-colour tile where the main colour is not from the "browser-safe" palette and yet won't dither on computers limited to 256 colours.

This version of the page demonstrates the technique: the blue under this text is not from the browser-safe palette - it is RGB #009BC7 - and yet it will never dither.

Even though this page uses a page tile graphic, the blue under this text isn't from the tile but is set by body bgcolor to the required unsafe colour. The bgcolor is showing through the transparent part of the tile graphic.

This combined bgcolor/tile approach is used because colours set in HTML, such as bgcolor, will never dither.
